Real Estate Minister Amit Shah today launched a campaign for Gujarat to become a “Modi state”.
“In Gujarat, where I am from, Gujarat is a place where people have a dream of living a life of dignity, a life where the rule of law is there and where people are free to express their ideas and opinions,” Mr Shah said in a speech.
“In Gujarat today, I want to make it a state where people can have a life as well as a dream.”
Mr Shah, who is a part-time lecturer at the Centre for Social Sciences, said the Gujarat government is moving towards creating a “secular Gujarat”.
“We are a secular state.
Gujarat is the only state in the country that has a constitution that recognises the right of the Hindu community,” he said.
Mr Shah said the government is taking the right decision and will not lose sight of its core mission to ensure that Gujarat stays the “Modis” Gujarat.
