On Thursday morning, the Texas Department of Insurance announced it had issued a statement saying it is closing the property management services to a contractor that it has been working with on the property, after a previous complaint was made.
According to the statement, the company has been under investigation by the department for a number of months, and is under investigation for a lack of compliance with the regulations.
The statement said the company had not completed the necessary environmental and safety review and had not been certified by the Texas Public Utilities Commission (PUC).
The statement did not name the company, but said it was not able to comment on ongoing litigation.
The department’s announcement follows a similar announcement from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) on Wednesday.
In its statement, TCEQ said it has received two complaints against the contractor and has issued a number on the allegations.
The agency said the contractor is a “non-profit company” and that its operations have not violated the state’s laws governing the business of property management.
According the TCEq statement, “the company has not complied with the regulatory requirements for property management” and it “has not received an inspection or permit to conduct any business.”
The agency has said the department has a number in its files of property owned by a group of owners, including a Texas Unclaimed Property Fund (TUPF), which provides money to owners who want to reclaim their property.
In April, TUPF awarded a $1.5 million judgement to the TEXAS property management company, which was the subject of the complaint, for failing to comply with its environmental and hazardous waste management rules.
The company said it had also received a notice from the department, which said it would close the property in October.
The TEXSUS property management firm, which did not respond to requests for comment on Thursday, did not immediately respond to a request for comment from RTE.
In a statement, TEXsus said it is committed to protecting the safety of our staff and our clients.
The Department of Public Safety and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department are investigating the matter.
